Internationally known and multi-talented, Lady Sparkle’s was born into her culture and heritage of Trinidad & Tobago. Lady Sparkle’s currently sings Groovy Soca. Her genre also includes Soul, R&B, Reggae and "whatever floats her boat!" Being inspired by her mom, always put in front of family and friends to perform, she learned how to be very versatile inspired by Denise Plumber, Sparrow, Poser, Roots Man also not wanting to leave out George Benson , Diana Ross, Freddie Jackson, Luther Vandross, Stephanie Mills. Because of the inspiration of these artist she learned how to do background vocals.
Lady Sparkle’s recently completed her first single entitled, “Ah Gone Hold You Down Tonight” off of her latest project Lady Sparkle’s Coming At You. Production Manager, Matthew Bowens, said, “It’s a catchy tune!” (Master Disk, NYC). After having worked with her, he added, “She’s a memorable person…she makes her mark wherever she is.”
Before Sparkle’s became “Lady Sparkle’s”, she had several nicknames: Killer Clic, Jitter Bug, Trini Gal, Ebony Eyes, Crazo, Lover, Sexy. But there was only one that stood out among the rest, The name Lady Sparkle's was the one. In a room, Sparkle’s always has a way of brightening up a room with her style and energetic way of life. When she walks in a room, "boy, may I say no more!" Early on, Sparkle’s talent was noticed by many teachers, dancers, and promoters. Some household names include Ms. Fish Burn, Sister Cole, Ms. Brooks, Biz Markie, Red Alert, Full Force, Lauryn Hill, Coolio, Roots Man, Trini Devo, Lady Saw, Sister Charmaine, Beenie Man and Mr. Vegas. More recently, Poser, Gyptian, Maximus Don, Super P and there is to many more to add on.
Along with performing modern Jazz pieces / Caribbean dances! Lady hit places like Brooklyn Collage and Merger Evans College. Lady Sparkle’s also performed in an off-Broadway tribute at Town Hall to the well-known jazz artist Barry Harris. If you all do not know who that is please do your homework. Did I not also mention that she had received a dance scholarship from acclaimed dance school Alvin Ally.
Sparkle’s hosted a show called Caribbean Explosion where she was viewed by many all over. Not only did she meet and interview, but she also performed alongside many artists from Jamaica. People who lady sparkle's had interview were Freddie McGregor, Sister Charmaine, Lady Saw and many more. Trying to keep herself busy, Lady Sparkle’s was called to be in many videos you can catch her in BQE band music video doing what she does best parading the costume and wining her waist. Sparkle’s even modeled at one point in time.
Sparkle’s was also part of 4 bands, Kaotic & the Mad Mad Crew, Head Corner Stone/ Island Riddim and In Flights. While she was focusing on her solo career. She dealt with different types of music while being involved with these different bands.
Sparkle’s is also a philanthropist.
Sparkle’s has helped organizations with their awareness about, sickle cell, cancer awareness campaigns and down syndrome, more recently has helped youths focus on education and the importance of staying in school. People that know Lady Sparkle’s always have said that her time will come, (now the question.) Is this her time? “There’s no stopping Sparkle’s.
Lady Sparkle’s was born knowing what she has to do to make her dreams come through, keeping her faith in God is what she believes in and being focused on what she really has to do.
